Gratitude

I have to take a moment from the stories to express my gratitude to those who got Emily and me where we are today. A few weeks ago, we finally had time to write our thank you cards to everyone who helped us in our last few weeks before departure. I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed at the amount of good wishes and support we received, and it is just a fraction of everything that has come to us. Our friends, family, the sailing community in Detroit, and especially our sailing family at Crescent Sail Yacht Club played an incredibly important role in our trip, and in every way imaginable. Every word of advice, every spare part, every dollar, all the kind words of encouragement, and every hope and wish and dream sent with us for this adventure has an unimaginable value and is carried with us wherever we go. The list of names is too long, but please know that everyone back home has helped build this dream. It’s impossible to come up with the words to express the true extent of our gratitude, so I will just leave it at thank you.
